No. As no oil is used, the main maintenance of oil-free screw compressors is concentrated on the water treatment system and cleaning filters, which is usually less frequent and less costly than in conventional models.
Compared to conventional oil lubricated compressors, oil-free water lubrication compressors reduce friction and energy consumption due to their high lubrication efficiency. At the same time, water as a lubricating medium also helps to dissipate heat, which further improves the energy efficiency of the equipment.
The internal components of oil-free water lubricated screw compressors are usually made of corrosion-resistant materials, which can effectively resist corrosion of metal parts by water. Regular replacement and treatment of water resources will extend the life of the equipment.
The life expectancy of an oil-free water lubricated screw compressor is similar to that of a conventional compressor, and is usually in excess of 10 years with reasonable maintenance, depending on how often the equipment is used and how well it is maintained.
The lubrication water replacement cycle depends on the use of the environment and the intensity of the compressor’s work, in general, the water can be replaced once a year. Some high humidity environments may require more frequent monitoring of water quality and water replacement.
